Rutland RS-3Another introductory post for folks. My name is Elroy Davis, and I'm the newest member of the RAILBRICKS blogging team. I live in the U.S., in the tiny state of Vermont. I'm an active member of the New England LEGO Users Group (NELUG), and an avid train fan. When it comes to building trains, I consider myself a model railroader first, and a LEGO builder second. Because of this, you may see me use model railroading terms such as prototype and scratch-built when describing things.

Though I consider myself a model railroader, many of my builds are freelanced imaginary trains, such as my Adventurer's Train and Brickling Brother's Circus Train. My more reality-based builds tend to be 6-wide LEGOized versions of New England trains, such as my Rutland RS-3 or Mount Washington Cog Railway.

One of my favorite aspects of the LEGO train hobby is taking part in displays for the public, either at train shows or other events. I love seeing the crowd's reactions to what we do, and even more, I love interacting with more traditional model railroaders who don't always understand the LEGO version of the railroading hobby, but who generally respect the time and effort that goes into putting on a display.

I look forward to helping out with RAILBRICKS. I've been reading the magazine since issue #1, and I think that both the magazine and website are great contributions to the LEGO train hobby.

    Hi Elroy,

The AlCo's great! I've made an RSC3 model with the original color scheme of CP (that's for the Portuguese Railway Company and not Canadian Pacific). If you want to check the model here are some pics:
