I often give Swoofty grief when I preach the gospel of steam but truth is I have a bit of a soft spot for the early diesels too. And Swoofty's latest build of a Rock Island E6A definitely has my attention.

Rock Island's #630 E6A was the last operating E6 in the US. It became a bit of a celebrity around Chicago where it served in commuter service because of that fact.

 Swoofty's model is quite impressive with the use of metallic silver brick, nice roof details and built up trucks. Check it out at his Flickr Gallery.
