Anthony Sava has made it known to me that I'm rather poor at actually documenting my projects in their various stages of build. So I'm going to try some thing different and actually document my progress on my entry for the second Flickr Trains Build Challenge.
My engine of choice is Peach Bottom Railway Eastern Division #2 The "Robert Fulton". Built by Porter Bell and Co. in 1873 the little Robert Fulton was a 2-4-0 weighing in at only 15 tons.The Peach Bottom Railway was a 19th-century narrow guage railroad in Pennsylvania, intended to haul coal from the Broad Top coal fields to Philidelphia, but succeeded only in establishing two local short lines.
The Middle Division of the Peach Bottom Railroad eventually became the Pennsylvania portion of the famed Maryland & Pennsylvania Railroad. The Eastern Division (home to #2 the "Robert Fulton") went into operation in 1873 and ran between Peach Bottom and Oxford in Lancaster County PA — a distance of about 20 miles. A connection to Quarryville was added around 1905. The line was closed on October 18, 1919.
